Recently my daughter Abigail asked me if she could participate in a thon at our church. The money was being raised for a good cause, but I have a basic dislike for thons. I asked her to consider beginning a book selling business instead. I had just cleaned out two boxes of books from my office and asked her to list the books on Amazon and give the profit to church. Those two boxes of books have turned out to be a wonderful fund raiser. She has raised more than $1,200 and is still going! This is the first of several articles in which I hope to pass on some of the wisdom we have learned through this experience in an effort to help anyone wanting to work at setting up a simple Amazon book selling business.

We added up hours and sales totals and realized that Abby has made approximately $8.00 an hour. Not overwhelming, but not bad for a 15 year old! And she has gained valuable knowledge and skills.
