School has been in session for a while now. Many of you have been sticking to your guns and have saved money by making your child’s lunch. But just about now, your child is beginning to put on the pressure for those expensive lunchables. Don’t fall for the guilt! Hang on and keep sending in healthy, less expensive alternatives. Here are several suggestions for some “fun” and exciting alternatives to the typical packed school lunch.
You can liven up your child’s lunch by altering the lunch container. Have fun without spending much at all. Here is how:
Decorate his or her bag:
Decorate paper bags with markers or any craft materials. Insulated or permanent bags can have a luggage tag you can change with different messages or just place a special message inside.
Buy a special lunch bag to use on “special” days:
Surprise your child periodically by using a special lunch bag. Keep the interest high by including something special on the days you use this bag.
Alternatives: Use leftover birthday party bags or gift bags.
